The Java Club is alive and well!

So, it has been a long time since anything has been posted on The Java Club website and blog. However, people of the inter-web, have no doubt: The Java Club is alive and well. Just today, I received this question in an email: Are there limitations to how we can use Java Club bible studies in the church or are they free?

The answer is...of course! All resources on the java club website (www.thejavaclub.org) are free to reproduce and use. Happy Bible storying!

Experience Bible Storying!

The Book of Acts describes an early church that grew rapidly without television, radio, cell phones, or the internet. So just how did the early church spread God’s Word so quickly despite political persecution and cultural resistance? They simply told the stories of Jesus life and ministry to people, who told more people, who told even more people! Join us for 5 days in beautiful Orlando, Florida and EXPERIENCE Bible storying as it was used by the early church.

What?
Bible storying can be used inside the church, across the street, and
around the world for evangelism, discipleship leadership training and
church planting. It can be chronological, topical or both. It involves a
natural, contextual telling and discussion of Bible stories. Anyone can
learn and share God’s Word this way regardless of security restrictions or
cultural biases. Venues for Bible storying can include:
• Bible study groups of any age meeting at any place
• Hospital, home and jail visitation
• Evangelistic outreaches anywhere that people meet
• Short-term mission trips to works already in progress
• Engaging an unreached people group with little or no access to the Gospel
• Backyard Bible clubs, home school groups, public schools and colleges
You’ll live in a spacious, fully furnished apartment for 5 days with a small
group of Christians. Living and working together, you’ll learn the skills
and strategies needed to use Bible storying in ministry. After your time in
Orlando you’ll be able to train others using the same methods you’ve been
taught; hearing, retelling, and discussing Bible stories.

When?
Arrive at the Orlando airport Monday, October 5, 2009 before 3pm, dinner provided, 1st session begins at 6pm. Depart from the Orlando airport Friday, Oct 9th after 2pm, lunch-to-go provided.

A link to share

Hey everyone out there in blogger land. I haven't posted anything in a while because, honestly, I haven't been in the office to make any changes to the Java Club website.
However, for anyone who is interested, here is a link to an article on how Bible storytelling has transformed an entire community. Sure it is overseas, but we believe it can happen in America as well. We are praying that God would use the telling of His Story in powerful ways to bring revival to America- and all the world! Anyway, here is the link: "Awakening Through Storytelling". Enjoy!
Also, if anyone has questions, please ask away. God bless!

As I have spent some time in NC, GA, AL, and FL, I have talked to some people who have been using or plan to use the Java Club material. So...we want to hear from you!
Have you used the Java Club?
How is going?
Is it working?

New Audio, Video, and Story Set!

Hey everybody,
We have a whole bunch of new content for the java club, so here is a run down of what's new:

1. Java Club is now on YouTube. The first video of a Java Club story (story 4 from the radical growth set) is up on YouTube. If you would prefer, you can download it on the House Blend page.
2. Audio versions of the second set- "A panorama of redemption" are now up. At first I wasn't going to do audio for this set, but since they are longer stories, I thought it might be helpful. Enjoy- and don't make fun of my southern accent. :)
3. Espresso is now being served! The third Java Club set has been completed. It is called "faithful women" and it is a 10-story set designed to share the stories of women in the Bible who displayed great faith. Check it out!

Also, anyone who is out there using the Java Club, please let us know how it's going! Thanks!
